Beyond Apartheid in the Gated Community

I returned to Liverpool after an amazing year living in London while studying MA Painting at Wimbledon College of Arts, University Arts London. I was accepted to join The Royal Standard where a generous community of artists work in The Baltic Triangle, Liverpool’s creative hub.

Exchanging practice with other artists at TRS and linking with the wider art community enabled dynamic exchange. I continued painting Gated Communities in South Africa using disparate images to create fake places we inhabit to escape a reality too dangerous or too complicated to change.
